ART ON THE MOVE touring contemporary art - new national tour of
Out of Site - a survey of the IASKA international artists program (1998-2002)

For the first time a selection of contemporary artworks that leading Australian and international artists have created for the International Art Space, Kellerberrin Australia (IASKA) are presented in the exhibition Out of Site. IASKA is a groundbreaking organisation based on a unique idea: to run a cutting-edge program of exhibitions and residencies by prominent international artists in an isolated rural community. IASKA's gallery and studio space are located in the small town of Kellerberrin, 210 km east of Perth, in the heart of the WA Wheatbelt. Participating artists live and work in the town for up to three months, developing original artworks stemming from their experience of the place and people.

The 16 artists in this exhibition exemplify the most advanced trends in international art. It is worth noting that a number of the works produced for IASKA and now featured in Out of Site, have been re-presented to audiences outside Australia. This is the case for example, with Louise Paramor (Berlin, 2001), Heinrich Luber (Basel and Prague, 2000) and Salvatore Falci (Milan, 2000). West Australian artists featured in this show include Robert Frith, Philip Gamblen, Trevor Richards, Alex Spremberg and Miriam Stannage.

Out of Site offers visitors the opportunity to compare and contrast a diversity of works by artists of different cultural backgrounds. The compelling contemporary art works on show include photography, video, installations, sculpture and multi media prints. The national tour of the exhibition is managed by ART ON THE MOVE.
